ECSPCAM65 Battery Powered Smart Outdoor Camera

A battery powered outdoor security camera that records in 1080p, sends motion alerts to your phone and needs no cabling and no monthly subscription. Because it runs on batteries and connects over WiFi, it can go where a wired camera cannot, on a shed, a gable end or a gate pillar with no supply near it.

Storage is on a microSD card in the camera itself, supplied with an 8GB card and taking up to 128GB. There is no cloud fee, no account tier and nothing to renew, which is the running cost that catches people out with cheaper cameras.

Q: Is there a monthly subscription?

Q: How long does the battery last?
A: Up to 750 activations on a full charge. Real world life depends on how much movement the camera sees, so a busy front driveway will need charging more often than a side gate. It takes 2 x 18650 lithium ion batteries and both are included.

Q: Does it need wiring or an electrician?
A: No. It is battery powered and connects over WiFi, so there is no cable to run and no supply needed. It mounts with the supplied bracket, screws and wall plugs. That is the reason to choose it over a wired camera for a shed, gate or gable end.

Q: Can it be left outside in Irish weather?
A: Yes. It is IP65 rated, which means dust tight and protected against low pressure water jets from any direction, so rain and wind driven damp are not a problem. Mount it so the lens is not facing directly into driving rain if you can.

Q: How far will it see at night?
A: The infrared LED illumination reaches about 8 metres, and PIR motion detection reaches about 7 metres across a 125 degree angle. That suits a door, a driveway entrance or a yard rather than a long field.

Q: How far can it be from the WiFi router?
A: The wireless range is quoted at 150m in open air, but walls, thick stone and outbuildings reduce that considerably. It runs on 2.4 GHz, which travels better through walls than 5 GHz. If the camera is going on a detached garage or shed, check the signal at that spot with a phone first.
